The Taste Of Yellow

For the third showroom exhibition, which welcomes autumn's color palettes and shades of yellow into the showroom, creative agency Sweet Sneak Studio developed a culinary concept for the evening, inviting guests to explore ‘that yellow feeling’ with all their senses.

The menu du jour included:

YELLOW SCENT

LEMON MARSHMALLOWS
Soft as pillows.

Sneaky as we are, we got the recipe from the girls, allowing you to bring that yellow feeling into your home. Here is how to make the deliciously fluffy yellow marshmallows, from our showroom opening. Give it a go!

Here is what you’ll need:

330 g powdered sugar
18 g powdered gelatine (or 12 leaves)
150 ml water
30 ml lemon juice (about 1 big lemon)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon vanilla pulp
a hint of yellow food coloring
a little bit of oil
50 g starch flour

How to make the yellow marshmallows:

1. Mix starch flour and 30 grams of the powdered sugar in a bowl. Oil a casserole and dust it with the starch-powder sugar mix.

2. Put the rest of the powdered sugar in a mixing bowl.

3. Put the gelatine, water, lemon juice, salt and vanilla pulp in a small pot and let it sit for 5 minutes, so the gelatine can swell.

4. Warm up the gelatine mixture until the gelatine dissolves. Make sure it doesn’t get too hot – gelatine dissolves already at a low temperature.

5. Now be ready with a hand mixer! Add the gelatine mixture to the powdered sugar bowl while stirring. Keep on mixing for about 5 mins until you get a fluffy, white mass.

6. Time to add the food coloring! Mix until it is evenly spread out.

7. Fill the mixture into the casserole and even out the surface.

8. Cover the casserole with cling film and let it set for about 1 hour. The marshmallows can then be cut with an oiled knife in your preferred size and shape.

Enjoy!
