Frame is a sofa with a higher seat, making it particularly ideal for dining settings. The design is the epitome of minimalism, comprising only two elements, a simple, rounded seat which is elegantly fitted into the slightly angled backrest. The sofa is made from high-quality PU foam with a wooden reinforcement structure inside and rests on powder-coated steel legs. Frame comes in four lengths.
Textile: Clean with textile or upholstery cleaner. Leather: Clean with a damp cloth. Use warm water with soap flakes. Frequent vacuuming with a soft fitting is recommended for both textile and leather to preserve color and appearance.
Frame Sofa
Frame is a sofa with a distinctively high seat, making it particularly ideal for dining environments or other areas where a higher seat is desired. The design is the epitome of minimalism, consisting of only two elements: A simple, slightly rounded seat elegantly integrated into the gently angled backrest. Frame draws inspiration from classic American diners, often characterized by smaller booths with quilted dining sofas.
Designer Simon Legald explains, "The idea was to take the heavy, upholstered dining sofa out of the diner and give it a more contemporary expression. Frame has been an exploration of how to create a similar product that better caters to modern needs and interiors."
The result is a completely clean, simple profile, extruded into four different lengths. Appropriately named “Frame”, the collection gracefully frames the surroundings in which it is placed. The design is crafted from high-quality PU foam with an internal wooden reinforcement structure and powder-coated steel legs. Frame can be customized with Normann Copenhagen's wide-ranging assortment of upholstery options, which offers textiles and leathers in hundreds of thousands of colors and variations.

Simon Legald graduated from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in the summer of 2012. His work consists of both small- and large scale products. Simon's designs are often created in a dialogue between craftsmanship and industry. He also likes to incorporate the techniques that are necessary for the structure of a product into the design by highlighting them visually.
"Honesty is what makes a product understandable and is what describes the products functionality. If you understand the product, it does not need any explanation. The essence of my design is for it to be bought and used. Therefore, it has to satisfy not only the functional aspects, but also the psychological and aesthetic needs. For me simplicity describes the true identity of objects and makes them trustworthy. In my design, I try not to add any unnecessary details. I work with simplicity by highlighting the necessities instead of hiding them. It gives the product a simple and honest expression."
